Yeah. I won't say his name but I know it wouldn't be hard for you to figure it out. I guess if we're talking person to person, you can call me Matt.
( Matt sort of shrugged again. He was trying to play it cool-- and surprisingly, was? It felt like this vigilante hero super power thing was starting to get normal. That and Spider-Man's presence annoyed him at first but it was nice to know someone was covering his back-- when they did the Unintentional Team Up.
When Spideyguy mentions the shooter, Matt puts his helmet back on, taking a few moments to adjust it. He licks his molar and tilts his head, trying to hear -- the guy is too far gone but Matt knows the direction he went in. )
Three blocks south, then he's gone from there. Go on ahead, I'll meet you there. And uh-- I never mentioned this before because it would have been weird, but if we're working together, you can... ha, you can whisper to get my attention, tell me where you're going during the fight, whatever. I'll listen for you.
( this night has been wild, from start to finish. from being spotted in an alley based on his heartbeat to finding out that Daredevil was a cute blind guy that wants to work together and his name was Matt and he'd offered it willingly? Peter feels almost as if he's dreaming, it is hard to wrap his head around.
while it may be normal for Matt, what with a whole team of Defenders under his belt, it isn't normal for Peter. for a minute he considers just agreeing to call him Matt when the mask was off and to leave it at that, but... well, after a rollercoaster ride for his heartbeat, Peter manages, ) Okay. Uh.. Peter. My name is Peter. Nice to... you know... Matt. Okay.
( very smooth and eloquent, really don't know how Matt somehow falls for this guy.
the idea he can whisper for him is oddly adorable, and also helpful for teaming up. while Peter's hearing is probably not quite as good, he agrees, ) I should be able to hear you, too, even if I'm not nearby. I'll listen for you. ( Matt might have to use his big boy voice, though, Peter isn't used to listening for whispers. with that, Peter feels like they've been standing on the rooftop long enough, and heads to the side of the building to appraise what route he's going to take across the skyline. )
Don't keep me waiting, Daredevil. ( he's really going to be annoyed if he heads three blocks south and then Matt doesn't flip onto the roof a few minutes later. that's the best goodbye he offers, and just like that he's gone. maybe when they're better friends, he'll give Matt a lift. right now, definitely too weird to websling him around the city. )
